Marathon #1 Complete!

So Craig and I finished our first marathon of the 12 marathons in 12 months in 2012 challenge. I'm in the hotel now, feeling good. We finished with energy to spare, which I am hoping will serve us well in 3 weeks when we have to run marathon #2 in Myrtle Beach.

Miami turned out to be a great race. Lots of people, lots to see with nice views of the water and cruise ships and beautiful tropical neighborhoods. The race has lots of people so it is a bit cramped running but still a good marathon, I'd run it again.

I haven't posted in a while because I have been using my twitter to post my workouts. You can follow me on Twitter @12in12in12dan

But I still want a place to share running info and talk about the 12in12in12.

I saw a video by Paula Radcliffe and Nike about 2012 and how to #makeitcount in 2012. So I made my own video the other morning when I got up, I posted it below. If you can't see anything, it's not your computer. It was 5 am and it was completely black outside, so although my face was a foot from my video camera, nothing came out except the audio. So you can at least hear my voice.




My training for the first of 12 marathons is in its downhill phase. I had my last long 20 miler two weekends ago, which went well. This past weekend was 5 on Saturday and 12 Sunday. On Saturday I ran 1 mile warmup and then 4 at 6:58 pace, which is fastest I have run for a while, and it felt real good. I would like to start to do more speedwork again, which I have held off on so I didn't get hurt or overtrained.

So I am feeling good, and am very psyched for Miami on January 29th. Two weeks left!
